Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation

The Welsh Assembly Government produce a periodic index of local socio-economic deprivation levels. The 2001 ward-based report showed four of Holyhead's wards being among the 100 "worst" wards in Wales. The new index produced in 2005 is based on LSOA's, of which there are far more in Wales than wards. This has been updated for 2008.

The new index may be viewed on the Welsh Assembly website www.wales.gov.uk under "WIMD" or by searching on the Local Government Data Unit website by clicking here
