The Holyhead Forward Board monitors the implementation of the strategy, and receives and considers six-monthly progress reports.

Holyhead town centre

An amended version of the Holyhead Forward Strategy was prepared and agreed by the Board in October 2007 to link into the new EU Convergence Funding programme 2007-2013. A progress report on the new strategic themes and priorities was reported to the Board in April 2008, and a copy is available to download here.

The Holyhead Forward Strategy Review of 2003-2008 was published in December 2008 and this measures progress againt the original Strategy. The review shows major capital investment in Holyhead of some £153m in the period 2003-08 of which 75% was privately funded. Of the £38m public capital investment, £27m was on infrastructure, £8m on regeneration, and £3m on community or leisure facilities.  The review concluded there is a need for a revised strategy which takes account of the new challenges and opportunities facing the town.
